Come join Mothers Out Front, a nonprofit empowering mothers, grandmothers and other caretakers, for a fun afternoon of games, food and drinks at Punch Bowl Social in Sacramento on November 11th from 11:30am-1:30pm.
In 2013, Mothers Out Front was born in a Boston-area living room where several mothers gathered to share their private fears about climate change. Five years and many such gatherings later, that initial handful of women has burgeoned into a growing movement. We now have over 21,000 supporters, including 1,400 volunteer leaders in community teams across nine states to transition this country from its fossil-fuel past to a clean energy future.
In California, teams in Woodland, San Francisco, and San Jose have kept the pressure on all elected officials, whether Democrat or Republican, to keep the air and climate healthy for all children. Mothers celebrated Governor Jerry Brown's commitment to 100% clean energy by 2045, while calling on him to deny new permits for oil and gas drilling in the state. Hundreds of volunteers marched in San Francisco in September to demand, "Brown keep it in the ground."
We're excited to tell you more about our work and introduce you to some of our local volunteers. Please join us for a family-friendly party on November 11th from 11:30-1:30pm. It's going to take all of us to create a brighter, healthier and more sustainable future for tomorrow's generation.
