Green Dreams & Electric School Bus Rides: A Family-Friendly Climate Week Celebration

Join us on September 24th from 6-8 PM (food begins at 5:30PM) at an event space in Greenwich Village for an inspiring event during Climate Week NYC. Focusing on Electric School Buses as transformative climate solutions and the power of art to share that vision. This family-friendly gathering will spotlight the exciting potential for electric school buses (ESBs) to create a healthy ride to school for all kids. You’ll learn how ESBs curb pollution and greenhouse emissions to mitigate climate change. Most importantly, learn how advocates are key to unlocking that potential. Join us to learn how you can take action and be a part of the ESB solution!

Event Highlights:

  • Interactive Discussion Around Electric School Buses: Hear from Mothers Out Front, a grassroots organization leading the charge for climate justice and environmental sustainability. Discover how they are helping to educate moms, caregivers, and allies across the country to drive the transition to electric school buses.
  • Participate in an engaging conversation about the vital role of electric school buses in reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Learn how the Electrifying School Buses in the Bronx and Beyond (ESB3) initiative is paving the way for cleaner, healthier transportation in our communities. And you’ll hear about the financial benefits of transitioning to ESBs from World Resources Institute’s Electric School Bus Initiative.
  • Learn how advocates play a critical role in helping school districts transition to electric fleets, from initial education, to sharing resources, to engaging with other districts who have traveled the same path. Most importantly, hear how moms and caregivers are uniquely positioned to carry this message and make a difference in their school district.
  • Electric School Bus Ride! After the presentation, families can enjoy a hands-on experience with an electric school bus ride, offering a first-hand look at what it’s like to travel in a cleaner, greener vehicle.
  • Kids’ Creative Corner with Nicole Kelner: While advocates, mothers, and caregivers participate in the electric school bus discussion, kids of all ages are invited to engage in a creative activity led by Nicole Kelner, founder of Arts and Climate Change. No supplies are needed. Nicole will use her watercolor artistry to illustrate a sustainable future and inspire kids to create their own representations of a climate-positive world. She’ll also showcase her work and guide the kids in a hands-on art activity.
  • Family Friendly: This event is designed for all ages, featuring activities that will engage children and adults alike, making it a perfect opportunity for families to learn and act together
  • Food Included: Enjoy a range of delicious, climate-conscious refreshments while connecting with other attendees and exploring these crucial topics.
