October 8th - 8:30am - 4:30pm
"The Mothers Out Front training on May 21st was an in-depth look at organizing. Organizing can seem overwhelming sometimes but these trainings break it down into manageable pieces." - Mary Lupien, Rochester
Our movement of mothers, grandmothers, and allies to ensure a swift, just, and complete transition off of fossil fuels needs YOU! Join us for our workshop on Saturday, October 8th in Rochester.
The Rochester workshop is divided into 2 sessions:
In the "Power, Privilege, and Difference" Session, participants will be introduced to a framework of power on personal and organizational development relative to group identities. This interactive session will give participants an opportunity to apply the framework in activities and personal sharing. The skills and concepts of the framework will be applied in the afternoon session on growing our movement.
"I have trained diversity trainers and personally led diversity work for the last 30 years. Kathy Castania has been on a parallel path. I have great respect for her and am sure she will do an excellent job." - Joyce Herman, Brighton
In the "Strategizing to grow our movement of mothers" session, we will gain an understanding of effective strategy development in the context of campaigns NYS mothers are organizing around. Learn and practice organizing tools and skills we need to engage the numbers of people we need to win! Create a collective vision of what we want to achieve in 2017 and set concrete goals to achieve that vision.
