With over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Julia has a passion for creating and implementing programs that foster community engagement, equity, and justice. She specializes in creating opportunities for shared learning and action planning around leadership development, authentic allyship, and addressing racism in schools and organizations. Her expertise in community organizing, program development, and organizational management has impacted a diverse range of communities, including suburban retirees, college students, and city youth.
Julia holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a macro focus from Boston College and several certifications in youth development, group facilitation, violence prevention, and nonprofit leadership. She has completed fellowships with the Terra Learning for Action Program, Harvard Mediation Program, and Harvard Kennedy School of Government Community Organizing Fellowship.
Growing up, Julia spent much of her time outdoors, climbing trees, reading books, and playing basketball. Her commitment to climate justice was ignited after watching David Attenborough’s Breaking Boundaries, where she realized that advocating for a future that prioritizes nature is not just urgent—it’s essential for a just world. As a mother, her drive to build a better future for her children fuels her work at Mothers Out Front, where she believes in the power of multi-racial, intergenerational movements to create meaningful change.
