Katy has been a digital activist and organizer since she was a kid. Her mom inspired her passion as an adolescent to stand up for what was right in her community in Michigan and then on a national scale. After earning a BA degree in Women’s Studies and Sociology from The George Washington University and a Masters in Diversity and Equity Education from the University of Illinois Katy spent a few years working on The Hill with Congressman Honda (CA17). She has also worked with nonprofit organizations across the country to start and win strategic digital campaigns. Katy’s work has focused on intersectionality and she is excited to work at the intersection of race, class, and gender within the Climate Movement. In her free time Katy plays rugby, she’s obsessed with good coffee, and she loves to walk her dog through the city of Chicago where she lives with her wife and toddler.
