Sarah McCann
Development Coordinator
What is the moment that you decided to work towards climate justice?
I left the political sector at a time of what I thought was relative security to pursue my second passion, the arts. Like many of my fellow Americans, I felt an out of body experience while watching our political process unfold in 2016. Looking back, I was incredibly naïve about all the work yet to be done! While I do not regret my time working in the arts, I felt it was imperative to join a movement fighting for our planet and the communities most impacted by flawed policies and powerful energy companies.
What are the strengths that you bring to movement building?
Within my development role I work everyday to ensure the financial stability needed in order to support our organizing work. That is a role I take incredibly seriously and I believe keeping it at the crux of my work enables me to zero in on priorities.
When you were a kid, what was your favorite activity?
Definitely making mud pies with my little brother and sister.
