Our Team:

Our team launched in 2015 when members of the Town of Veteran organized to try to stop Dominion Energy from building a gas compressor. Following that campaign which delayed the project by a year and established our reputation in the anti-fracking community, two local teams formed, one in Elmira and the other in Corning. These teams have led community campaigns for promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency at the local level. We have also mobilized our members to take action at the state level. In 2019 the two teams merged into one.

Our Values:

“We are committed to empowering our community to make smart energy decisions that benefit all our citizens, in particular those who are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change – our children.”

Current priorities:

  • Clean Heating and Cooling community campaigns at the local level.
  • Stopping the build-out of gas infrastructure at the state level.

Regular meeting times:

  • We meet monthly, but currently don’t have a regular day. Please contact us to learn more.
