Sarah Berner
Operations Associate
Over the last twelve years, Sarah has worked in multiple fields, including political organizing, law enforcement, libraries, and the arts. Her most recent position was Operations Associate with Arts Consulting Group, an distributed arts management firm, where she lead onboarding of new staff, served on the internal DEI committee, and facilitated internal equity sessions led by Dr. Arlene Ford of Equity Inquiry. Before this, Sarah was Personnel Recruitment and Engagement Assistant with DC Design Ltd, where she led an initiative to hire applicants of color and other marginalized groups for their “Design the Future” virtual STEM and Design Thinking education program. Sarah received her Associate Professional of Human Resources certification in March 2022.

What is the moment that you decided to work towards climate justice?
Having lived in Florida for over 20 years, I’ve seen first hand the devastation that climate change can bring, through hurricanes, flooding, heat waves, sinkholes, and disruption of food supply. I’ve also seen how the most financially vulnerable among us are also the most vulnerable to the negative effects of climate change.
